Manchester United have made an initial approach with a view to signing Rangers keeper Robby McCrorie this summer.
McCrorie has informed boss Michael Beale of his wish to leave Ibrox following the arrival of former Red Devils shot-stopper Jack Butland and his appointment as number one this term.
And the 25-year-old could now head in the opposite direction to Butland after United opened dialogue with McCrorie’s camp in recent days.
It is understood that Hull City and Polish champions Raków Częstochowa have also expressed an interest in McCrorie after Rangers put a £1million price tag on his head.
McCrorie will not be short of suitors in the coming weeks as he looks to make the next step in his career after a frustrating couple of seasons with his boyhood heroes.

The keeper has impressed when called upon in recent terms and he signed a new long-term contract at Ibrox last October as he set his sights on the number one jersey.
But he is now considering his options after the capture of Butland and will look to leave Rangers before the close of business this summer.
McCrorie previously attracted interest from United last term and boss Erik ten Hag could now make a move as he assesses his options between the sticks.
United completed a £47million switch for Inter Milan keeper Andre Onana following the departure of David de Gea at the end of last season but the other spots in the squad are uncertain at present.

Third-choice Tom Heaton will miss the first weeks of the campaign after sustaining an injury in training, while Nottingham Forest are still keen on a move for Dean Henderson and Matej Kovar is expected to join Bayer Leverkusen.
That could open the door for a potential switch to Old Trafford for McCrorie and Rangers have vowed not to stand in his way of an emotional exit.
Hull are one of several Championship sides that have been keeping tabs on the Scotland international and Częstochowa are also in the race as they look to qualify for the Champions League group stages on the back of their Ekstraklasa triumph.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
