MICHAEL BEALE has revealed that it is just a 'matter of time' before Jose Cifuentes completes his move to Rangers to become the ninth arrival of the summer at Ibrox.
Beale saw his side round off their pre-season schedule with a 2-2 draw away to Hoffenheim on Saturday as James Tavernier netted from the spot and Sam Lammers headed home to complete a second half comeback.
Striker Danilo made his debut off the bench after clinching a £5million move from Feyenoord to add further firepower to the Ibrox attack ahead of the new Premiership campaign and upcoming Champions League qualifiers.
Now midfielder Cifuentes is poised to clinch his own switch and arrive in Glasgow after several weeks of productive talks with Los Angeles FC that have resulted in an agreement being reached to bring the Ecuadorian on board.
Beale said: "It’s going to be a matter of days. The talks are ongoing and LA has been excellent to deal with throughout.
"I’ve been close to the deal throughout and close to the talks. There are visas and medicals when coming across but we will hopefully have good news in a couple of days. It’s going to happen, but it’s just a matter of time.

"He’s coming over from LA to Glasgow so there’s acclimatisation in a number of aspects. Let’s allow the boy to get in as he’s not just here for the day, he’s here for the future.
"He’s a really good player, box-to-box and he can play as a No.8 or No.6. He’s been playing from Christmas down but there’s been a break in the MLS for a couple of weeks and that’ll be good for him.
"We don’t want him to be playing for the full year so the week off has been good to him. I’ve been on the phone and watching him do some work.
"We are excited to have him here but let’s see when he’s here and settled into the team. He’s a player that can take us to another level."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
