The former Hibernian director of football operations who left the club last month reportedly did so amid allegations of 'inappropriate behaviour'.

Derek White departed Easter Road in October 2024, having been promoted from head of football operations to director of the same in September.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Hibernian are said to have confirmed that White resigned after allegations surfaced pertaining to inappropriate behaviour towards a young male player aged over 18.

In an official statement provided to the Daily Mail, a spokesperson for the Edinburgh club said: "Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, the details of it will remain confidential.

"The club informed the relevant authorities and organisations following our strict safeguarding procedures.

"The club can confirm that Derek White resigned from his role at Hibernian FC, whilst an internal investigation into his conduct was ongoing."

The 24-year-old previously worked for Livingston, where he fulfilled a number of roles including supporter liaison officer and media officer, before transitioning into the club's secretary role in January 2020.

Prior to this, White was a football coach with the West Lothian Youth Foundation and had worked with the Scottish FA as a liaison officer.

White replaced Finlay Stark, who left Hibs to join Brighton after seven-and-a-half years with the capital club during which he had served as academy administration and operations manager, football operations manager, and lastly head of football operations.

Again, according to the Daily Mail, Hibernian have since conducted an internal investigation and have since contacted the SFA and Disclosure Scotland with details of the alleged events.
