Stephen Robinson feels his St Mirren players gave him the reaction that he looked for as they narrowly lost to Rangers at Ibrox.
The Buddies were hammered 4-0 by Heart of Midlothian last weekend, and Sunday's 2-1 defeat in Glasgow was their fourth in succession.
Despite his side's recent woes, which has St Mirren languishing 10th in the Scottish Premiership table, alarm bells aren't ringing.
Robinson was impressed with the way his men pressed Rangers and created multiple goalscoring opportunities on their travels.
The Northern Irishman also singled out striker Toyosi Olusanya - calling the 27-year-old "outstanding".
“I asked for a reaction in terms of the performance last week, which wasn't us," he said. "And for a few weeks it hasn't been us. We started the season well. We had the European adventure. We played some good stuff in some games early on. And then sometimes you start thinking you're a wee bit better than what we are, everybody as a group. And you play a certain way and you get success. That's not us.
“We're a team that presses the life out of people. We play in their half and we're not embarrassed about that. And today I got the reaction I wanted.

"We’re on a sticky run, of course, but if we get performances like that, which is now the standard that's set, and I'll only play people that will run and die for the football club, and I got every ounce out of them today. And arguably there's not many Rangers fans who will say we didn't deserve something out of the game.
“The energy, the press, some of our quality of football as well. I mean, I don't see too many teams pressing Rangers like that or creating the chances that we've done throughout the game. Some of the decisions, I don't criticise referees a lot, but some of them, they were explained to me.
“Let's just say I don't agree with all of them, to say the least. But I don't want to overshadow a super performance against some very, very good players. We were brave, we created chances, and we have ourselves to blame for not taking those chances, of course. I thought Toyosi was outstanding. He scared the life out of the Rangers defence. If he takes a couple of those chances, perhaps, he probably wouldn't be playing for us at the moment.
“We're trying to be better and we're trying to improve all the time. But if I get a performance like that, we've said we've two games now. In this league, you win one game, you go sixth, you lose a few, you're down to bottom, which we are at the moment. But that can be quickly turned around by performances like that. So, no, I've got no concerns after watching that. I got the reaction I wanted.
“With the personnel, Conor McMenamin coming back again now, Richard Taylor coming back and Greg Kiltie. So, I thought we looked like a completely different outfit than we have done for probably the last three weeks in three games.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
