While the rest of his Portuguese teammates jetted back to their homeland or other various locations dotted around Europe, Cristiano Ronaldo stayed put in Scotland for an extra night.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus star opted to spend a third night in Glasgow - but at a different venue - before flying back to Saudi Arabia this afternoon.

The 39-year-old global superstar was spotted leaving Blythswood Hotel, a plush, five-star venue in Glasgow city centre earlier today.

He may have been angry when departing the Hampden Park pitch following last night's 0-0 draw between Scotland and Portugal, but on-lookers described Ronaldo as calm following a night of relaxation at the Blythswood.

It's believed he was spotted at the spa facility within the premises this morning.

Meanwhile, he left in a Gucci tracksuit with a solitary cabin bag when entering a Range Rover to take him to Glasgow Airport, where he would catch a private jet to fly him back to Riyadh.

It's said that CR7 stopped outside of the Glasgow hotel to sign more autographs for fans, who have followed him all over the city and its surrounding areas since his arrival on Sunday night.

The Al-Nassr striker has a game against Al-Shabab this Friday evening in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo was chased for half a mile as he left Hampden following the draw between Scotland and Portugal.

It follows the football icon's recent stay with the Portugal team at Loch Lomond's Cameron House at the start of the week.

Breaking his silence after the match, Ronaldo posted on Instagram: “We continue together.”
