Connor Barron has been called up to the Scotland squad for the Nations League match against Portugal.

The Rangers midfielder was originally in the under-21 side for their fixture against Belgium on Friday where he started the match at Tynecastle.

However, Barron did not travel to Kazakhstan with the under-21 squad and has instead been shuffled into the Scotland first-team.

It comes after fears Barron had suffered an injury with reports stating the midfielder was left out as a precaution over a small knock.

Now, though, the Scottish FA have confirmed Barron has replaced James Forrest in the Scotland top team ahead of facing Portugal at Hampden on Tuesday.
