Rangers manager Philippe Clement has made the bizarre claim that last weekend's 6-0 rout of Ross County was the "best result" in four years.
The Light Blues won the Viaplay Cup last season and also finished Europa League runners-up under Giovanni van Bronckhorst in 2022.
Yet following Rangers' latest Scottish Premiership defeat to Celtic, which has already put them on the back foot in the title race with four matches played, Clement suggested that thrashing Don Cowie's County the previous week topped the lot.
"Yes okay, but don't forget what happened last week," he said.
"It was the best result in around four years for the club, so it's not that black and white, it's grey. Okay maybe it's more dark grey today, and that's normal. For me also, I don't want to lose 3-0, nobody wants to lose that way, but we need to take the right conclusions out of that and the right conclusion is we should have made it 3-2 or 3-3 by being more efficient because they had four shots on target and we had four shots on target.
"Ball possession was 47/53, they are a lot of things that are equal but not the result, and it's about results in football. So, that's about having the quality to finish off the job. Those are things to work on for the next week's and month's."

On the loss against their bitter rivals, Clement commented: "Losing 3-0 is very hard, but we didn't reward ourselves.
"We started as the best team with two clear chances. You need to take these moments if you want to win Old Firm games.
"We are a young team, only just together. We have a lot of things to work on. We knew that before the game already.
"In that way, it's positive there were good signs in the way we started, but there are also lots of details to work on."
