Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin expressed his joy at summer signing Kevin Nisbet scoring his first goal for the club so early in his spell with the Dons.
The former Hibernian striker joined Pittodrie on loan from Millwall prior to the transfer window closing - taking on Bojan Miovski’s role as No. 9.
He made his debut as a substitute against Kilmarnock last weekend before netting a thrilling 98th-minute winner in a 1-0 Scottish Premiership triumph over Ross County on Saturday night.
That moment, which sent Aberdeen to the league summit, was made possible thanks to another summer recruit, Dimitar Mitov, who saved a penalty from Ronan Hale, keeping the game level in the second half.
Thelin praised both players for their crucial contributions.
“Kevin was in the right place at the right time inside the box, and it was also a good cross from Shayden (Morris), but he had to be there and he was,” Thelin remarked.
“We should be pleased, and it’s great for him to score so soon after arriving at the club.
“He has shown commitment in training and has taken on defensive duties while being vocal during the game, which I’m very pleased with.
“There was a moment when Ross County had the upper hand and created several chances near our box. When they received the penalty, it could have changed the game, but we managed to regroup and showed great spirit.
“It was a quick turnaround, and Dimitar's save was incredible. It was a well-taken penalty, but he made a fantastic stop.”

Ross County manager Don Cowie had no issues with the influence of VAR during the thrilling match.
Both teams had goals disallowed for offside, and the penalty was awarded by video assistant referee Kevin Clancy after Nicky Devlin blocked a shot from George Harmon with his hand.
“I’ve reviewed our disallowed goal, but at the time I wasn’t overly excited because I suspected Eamonn (Brophy) might have been offside,” Cowie commented.
“I didn’t realise how close it was in the moment, but that’s the purpose of VAR. It also worked in our favor with the penalty, but we couldn’t capitalize on it.
“I’ve seen the penalty again, and it was a remarkable save. Ronan is a clean striker of the ball and hit a solid penalty.
“It’s an amazing save. On another occasion, he scores, but that’s just how football goes.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.

We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
