Mikey Johnston has completed a Celtic transfer exit to join West Brom.

The winger, 25, has signed a four-year deal with the English Championship club after an undisclosed fee was agreed.

Johnston had impressed while on loan at West Brom last season and has now returned to the Hawthorns.

A Celtic statement confirmed: "Mikey Johnston has left #CelticFC to join West Bromwich Albion on a permanent transfer.

"Best of luck and thank you, Mikey!"

Johnston said of the deal: “I’m really happy to be here.

“Driving down the M6 last night I couldn’t stop smiling and I’m buzzing to be here.

“From day one here I got off to a really good start, the fans took to me, and I took to them right away.

“I felt the love the full time I was here last year and I’m just buzzing to be back.”

West Brom manager Carlos Corberán said: “Mikey is a player who needs no introduction to this club, and I am happy he is back with us.

“The impact he made with us last season cannot be underestimated and he adds proven quality to our squad.

“At just 25 his best years are still ahead of him, and this is a signing which shows the long-term ambitions of our club.

“Mikey has shown his commitment to the club and its fans, who I am sure will be excited to see him back in our shirt.”

Sporting director Andrew Nestor added: “Mikey was in great demand, so we are delighted that he viewed returning permanently to the Albion as the right destination for the next stage in his career.

“We all saw from the way he performed and carried himself here last season that he is the type of player that we want at this football club. Mikey's arrival compliments our squad and the other transfers we have made this summer.

“A lot of credit goes to the club’s football operations and recruitment for bringing Mikey here on loan last season. I’m so pleased we have been able to get this deal over the line and bring him back to The Hawthorns.”
