Scotland Under-21s manager Scot Gemmill says he’s “delighted” for Kieron Bowie after the Hibs striker made the move back to Scotland.
The £600,000 summer signing from Premier League side Fulham came off the bench to score his first goal for the Easter Road side against Dundee at the weekend.
Bowie has been named again in Scotland’s Under-21 squad for their upcoming Euro 2025 qualifiers against Spain and Malta.
Head coach Scot Gemmill says he couldn’t be happier for the youngster. “We're obviously delighted for Kieran,” he said. “I know he's spoken about his family and that that was a part of his decision to come back to Scotland."

The 21-year-old spent two season-long loans at Northampton Town, helping them secure promotion from League Two during his first spell in 2022/23.
“Looking from it externally, watching him have two years at Northampton on loan and obviously tracing him back, going down to Fulham as a very young player, it's brilliant that he's put himself in that position,” said Gemmill.
“And there's no question in my mind - I’m biassed of course - I feel his performances for the under-21s will have helped him secure that opportunity.
“That is, again, the purpose of the team. Of course, we want to help the players try to push towards the men's A, but if we can also play a part in their club careers too, where they can move up the ladder, then of course that's brilliant.
“It's something I speak to the players a lot about. No matter what stage they're at, whether they're trying to get into their club team, whether they're trying to get a new contract, whether they're trying to get a move because they're all in different positions, then showing they can play best v best is the best place to do your talking.
“The games coming up are another opportunity for all our players to show that they can play at the top level.”
Scotland’s youngsters resume their UEFA Euro 2025 qualifiers at Tynecastle on Friday 6 September, when they host group leaders Spain. A victory for the young Scots would see them go level on points with the Spanish as they hope to reach next year's finals in Slovakia.
