Daniel Kelly has completed his transfer move to Millwall.

The teenager progressed through the ranks at Celtic but decided to move down south at the end of his contract.

Millwall had agreed a deal to sign Kelly on a pre-contract in January but now an undisclosed fee has been agreed with Celtic.

The midfielder will not be involved for his new club this weekend due to signing after the Friday lunchtime deadline.

Director of football Steve Gallen said: "Daniel is a player that has been on the club’s radar for some time and highlighted to me upon my arrival.

"It’s been no secret that he’s attracted a lot of interest. We’ve been working on this deal all summer and we’re delighted that he sees his long-term future with Millwall.

"He’s exactly the type of profile we want to bring in. He’s a young box-to-box midfielder, athletic, dynamic and I feel he has a bright future and can add real quality to the squad.

"We want to make a team and club that is sustainable, exciting and developing lots of athletic type players over the next few years.

"Daniel ticks a lot of boxes for us and I’m sure everybody joins me in wishing him the very best here."

A Millwall statement read: "Millwall Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Daniel Kelly for an undisclosed fee from Celtic.

"The highly-rated midfielder, who attracted a vast amount of interest over the summer, becomes The Lions’ seventh signing of the summer and arrives on a long-term deal at The Den.

"The 18-year-old Scottish midfielder joins from The Bhoys having made six first-team appearances in the 2023/24 campaign, after his performances in Celtic’s B team caught the eye of manager Brendan Rodgers.

"Featuring in the midfield in competitions such as the UEFA Youth League, Kelly played his part in The Celts' successful 2023 Glasgow Cup campaign.

"A Scottish Premiership debut against Dundee also saw Daniel’s first goal for Celtic, as his late arrival into the box allowed him to fire home and open his account in green and white.

"Kelly has represented his country on numerous occasions, across both the Under 18 and Under 19s sides."
