Rapid Bucharest chiefs are desperate to complete a transfer move for Rangers midfielder Ianis Hagi.
Club owner Dan Sucu and technical director Viorel Moldovan have both stated their desire to sign the out-of-favour playmaker this summer.
Hagi, 25, returned to Rangers this summer after a loan spell in La Liga with Alaves. He has since been involved in bounce matches with the Rangers B team.
But the Romanian has not featured under Philippe Clement with Hagi widely expected to depart Glasgow in the near future.
A reported wage caluse in his current deal has also prevented any involvement with the first-team with any further starts for the club said to trigger a pay increase.
Reports in recent days have tipped Hagi to return to Romania to join Rapid Bucharest - who have just sacked Neil Lennon as manager.
The SuperLiga side have not won in six outings this season leaving the hierarchy plotting a marquee signing to transform their fortunes.
And owner Sucu has confirmed he wants Hagi to join the club this summer.
"Yes, we really want him," said owner Sucu as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

The owner commented on Hagi as he unveiled Marius Sumudica as the new manager of the team.
Rapid Bucharest technical director Moldovan added: "Ianis Hagi is a player of great value, I think every club wants him.
"There are certain discussions, I hope he is interested in coming to Rapid, that's the most important thing.
"Who wouldn't want Ianis Hagi?"
Quizzed on the possibility of Hagi's contract being ripped up, Philippe Clement previously stated: "That's a rumour. Not one that I have heard until now.
"I am not busy all this time with what amount of money a player is going out or coming in or all those things - that is not my job to do.
"My job is to see what is necessary for the squad, what profiles we need. And there are other people financially making decisions.
"It's not me making that kind of decision."
