Allan McGregor believes Marco Guida shouldn't be allowed to referee in the Champions League again following his "horrific decision" to show Jefte a second yellow card.
The Rangers winger was booked during the first half of their Champions League third round qualifier against Dynamo Kyiv at Hampden Park, and then Guida opted to give the player an early bath moments after the restart when Jefte collided with Oleksandr Karavayev while challenging for a header.
It seemed incredibly harsh and had Light Blues manager Philippe Clement signalling for a VAR on the touchline - to no avail.
Reacting to the sending off, the ex-Rangers shot-stopper raged at the Italian whistler.
"It's a horrific decision," the Ibrox legend said. "It's that bad I don't think the referee should work in the Champions League again this season.
"Anyone with two working eyes can see that's not a second yellow card."

Meanwhile Billy Dodds told BBC Sportsound: "First impressions it looked like a disgrace. There was no intention. I think that's a shocker. That's incredible. We know the game is getting modernised but my word. If you are getting a yellow card when it's not even a foul and getting sent off for that, what's the point? It's ridiculous.
"Any team with any player doing that would not expect a free-kick given against them, and then a yellow, and then a red. The referee isn't good enough. He shouldn't be refereeing at this level. The Kyiv jumped into HIM. Jefte's already here. He's not even caught him with an elbow or anything. He's just jumped into his arm. It's pointless even talking about it. That's a shocker."
His fellow analyst Derek Ferguson was fizzing at the referee's verdict too, he said: "No way, that's a disgrace. That is just a good, honest challenge in the air. Both players have got their eye on the ball. It's not even a foul. VAR has got to get involved in that. That's just an honest challenge, it's not a foul!"
Alan Hutton also provided his say on BBC Scotland punditry duty following the 2-0 loss: "It's a horrendous decision. That's what cost Rangers tonight. It's a disgrace."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
