Rangers have been dealt a major injury blow with Oscar Cortes forced off against Hearts.

The winger - who re-joined the club on loan from Lens this summer - had to be withdrawn early in the second half at Tynecastle.

Cortes had started the fixture in the capital but was unable to continue in the 48th minute as he suffered a cruel injury setback.

The Colombian winger appeared to be clutching his right hamstring as he went down on the pitch.

Cortes had been struggling at the end of the first half but played on before being left distraught as he trudged off the pitch just after the restart.

The 20-year-old missed a large spell of last season due to injury and had been hard at work to rehab the injury before the start of the Scottish Premiership season.

Rabbi Matondo was chosen as the replacement for Cortes with the match finely poised at 0-0.
