Celtic edged out Manchester City in a thrilling seven-goal thriller in North Carolina.

Brendan Rodgers' side earned victory as Nicolas Kuhn bagged a double before strikes from Kyogo Furuhashi and Luis Palma.

Oscar Bobb, Maximo Perrone and Erling Haaland were on target for the Premier League champions in the pre-season contest.

Kuhn opened the scoring after just 13 minutes as a well-worked move found the winger with space on the right flank, he drove towards goal and then curled into the bottom corner.

New signing Kasper Schmeichel was called into action to deny Haaland twice to protect Celtic's lead with the goalkeeper expertly thwarting the striker with two top saves.

City would level 20 minutes later, though, through Bobb. A ball across the box evaded Haaland but allowed the youngster to force home.

Kuhn restored Celtic's lead just three minutes later on 36 minutes. Reo Hatate picked out Kuhn and the winger cut inside to bend home.

On 44 minutes, Kuhn would turn provider as a brilliant outside of the foot through ball allowed Kyogo to burst clear and finish with aplomb.

Into the second half and Perrone would reduce the deficit with his second touch after coming off the bench. He controlled in the box before curling into the bottom corner.

Haaland restored parity on 57 minutes with a towering header over Liam Scales to power the ball home.

Palma's winner came 25 minutes from the end as Matt O'Riley picked out the surging run of Kwon who then played across goal for Palma to stroke into the empty net.

Manchester City had wanted an offside decision but the flag was not forthcoming as Celtic claimed victory in their second match Stateside.
