Alex Rae has insisted there is "nothing to report" on James Tavernier's future at Rangers.

The Ibrox captain has been linked with a summer exit to Super Lig Trabzonspor.

Reports claim a bid has been rejected but coach Rae brushed off questions on Tavernier's future as he branded the right-back an "integral" part of the squad.

After the defeat to Manchester United, Rae commented: "There is speculation throughout Tavernier's time here. He has been linked many times, lots of rumours.

"We just deal with it as it happens, nothing to report as such.

"Tav is an integral part of what we do here and hopefully that continues."

Pushed on a rejected bid from Trabzonspor, he added: "Listen, I have no idea what the bid is. That is kind of above my pay grade.

"For me, being at this club is vital, he has been an integral part over recent years.

"We'll wait and see what happens on all of them - I'm not too switched on about ins and outs."

Asked how Tavernier should be remembered if he does leave, Rae said: "Listen, I am here to talk about the game today guys, it's not really fair on me to actually say about someone who has actually left or is being remembered.

"He is still very much part of the squad."
