Dante Polvara has provided Aberdeen fans with some positive news - telling them that he’s undergone successful surgery on a hamstring tear.
The 24-year-old had a breakthrough campaign last time out, playing a key role throughout Aberdeen's Europa Conference League group stage journey. Most notably, scoring during an away clash at Eintracht Frankfurt.
And he was expected to kick-on further this season, with several supporters pondering the prospect of Polvara being a future Dons captain.
However, last Friday, an Aberdeen statement broke the agonising news that the American midfielder will be sidelined for up to four months.
A Pittodrie update said: "Dante Polvara will miss a significant portion of the 2024/25 season having suffered a hamstring tear in training.
“The 24-year-old is due to meet a consultant in the coming days but is expected to be out of action for 14-16 weeks. We wish Dante a speedy recovery."

Sharing an update via Instagram, from his hospital bed in London, Polvara wrote: "Successful surgery. One day closer."
He went on to joke: "I'm coming for whoever snapped my damn hamstring last week at Cormack Park."
