Stephen Robinson has confirmed St Mirren have thrown out a bid for Caolan Boyd-Munce.
The Northern Ireland internationalist is a transfer target for Leyton Orient and a bid reportedly in the region of £175k was tabled on Tuesday.
However, Robinson has vowed St Mirren won't sell on the cheap and will stand firm on their valuation.
And St Mirren are hopeful of extending Boyd-Munce's deal with a new contract offer on the table.
"We have," said Robinson on whether a transfer bid has been rejected. "We have got a valuation on thee player, it certainly wasn't the money that was talked about in certain articles.
"We have got a valuation on the player, we won't sell players for cheap anymore, we don't need to do that.
"We are speaking to Caolan about a new contract. Players always have a choice, they'll choose to stay or see their contract out which Keanu [Baccus] and Ryan [Strain] have done.
"We won't sell anybody undervalue and we are Caolan very, very highly. We won't entertain any kind of offers that aren't in the regions that we want."
He added: "We have offered him a contract extension. We offered him that a few weeks ago so let's see what happens.
"We certainly won't be letting him go for the bids that have come in.

“St Mirren provide a platform for players. Caolan has certainly progressed with our coaching staff here and his application and talent.
“His development should be here, I’m biased I know. Of course, everyone has a price.
“We are a club that sells players but the days when players left for £50,000 won’t be happening. We’ve progressed from that and are determined to build a football club and attract more players like him.
“He’s a boy who lost his way a little bit, didn’t have a club and we took a chance.
“He’s developed and that’s the platform St Mirren can give. Eventually players leave but they will leave on my terms and the club’s terms.”
Robinson is hopeful to add to his squad in the near future with a new centre-back expected to sign "very soon".
The St Mirren boss said: "I do [hope to have someone in soon]. I've been thinking I'm getting people in for about four weeks.
"We're hoping it will be done very soon."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
