The 32-year-old moved to Ross County two seasons ago, signing for Hibs' new sporting director Malky Mackay.

He is fresh off the back of scoring 23 goals in all competitions for Hibs' Scottish Premiership rivals County. The frontman played a major role in the Highland club retaining their top-flight status.

David Gray is underway with his recruitment drive since officially being unveiled as the head coach of the club.

Alan Nixon, is his Patreon, reports that Murray is a target for Gray as he aims to bolster Hibs' attacking options this summer.

Murray previously made 28 appearances for the Hibees, scoring 14 goals and notching six assists.

Meanwhile, Paul Hanlon has revealed that he had options to remain in the Premiership this summer after leaving boyhood club Hibs.

"It was difficult for me to decide what I wanted to do this summer," the 34-year-old said. "I’d been in one place for the whole of my career and I had to suss out all my options.

"I took my time and asked myself, ‘what have I got here, in terms of offers?’. I was trying to make the best decision. I sat down with my family and people I go to for advice. We looked at what was best.

"There were a few really different options that I had to think through – while having my nightly call from (Raith technical director) John Potter asking what was happening. It was a new experience. I had one offer abroad, a few in the Championship and some in the Premiership as well."
