Aberdeen forward Pape Habib Gueye has opened up on the differences between playing in Scotland to Belgium and Norway.

The 24-year-old has joined Norwegian side Kristiansund Ballklubbon on loan from the Pittodrie side.

Gueye has only featured seven times for Aberdeen and he has detailed the differences in quality.

Speaking to Kristiansund's website, he said: "The Belgian league is good, it is tough and technical," he said. "In Scotland we use a lot of power up and down, so it's a totally different league.

"In Norway, I see that the league is getting better and better. When I played here before, it was a lot about running as much as possible, but now I see that many teams play more football."

Meanwhile, Heart of Midlothian star Kenneth Vargas is 'finalising details' to turn his loan move to Tynecastle into a permanent one for next season, his father has revealed.

The Costa Rican star has netted in his last two games and his goal against Motherwell helped send the capital side 14 points clear in third place.

Vargas has been flying and has now netted five goals in his last nine games for Steven Naismith's side, who have won 11 and drawn once in their last 12 matches in all competitions.

The 21-year-old is on loan from homeland club Herediano and Hearts have an option to buy at the end of the deal.

And his father, also called Kenneth Vargas, has revealed his son's career has gone so well, he will set up an online business with him this summer after he persuaded him to retire.

Vargas senior, himself a former footballer, said: "He is so happy at Hearts that he is finalising details that will allow him to remain a Hearts player next season.

He persuaded me to bring forward my retirement date because of health problems I have suffered. I'm waiting for him to come home to Costa Rica when his season ends and we’re going to start a business, do something online. He told me to take it easy, rest and then we will start the business when he returns. Thank God he is doing very well.

"We had several conversations and he told me that he would send me money per month and that I should not worry so much. Setting up a business will stop me from being bored at home.

"Kenneth has told me he has settled into Hearts very well especially considering he is in a country where he does not have a 100% handle on the language, it's cold in Scotland and he is there alone. But he adapted really quickly. The team he plays for are very good tactically, it has a lot of squad depth. They are getting the most out of Kenneth."
