Jack Butland 7
Excellent double stop after just five minutes; pushed clear Birmancevic striker before quickly scrambling to deny Laci follow-up. Kept busy and pulled off a number of smart stops to keep the scores level.
Ben Davies 7
In for the injured Borna Barisic but looked more comfortable in the adapted back-three system. Stood up to the task well and adopted a wise safety-first approach on a busy night for the Rangers rearguard.
Connor Goldson 6
The central defender in the back three and put in an expected composed performance without many thrills or scares. Only truly beaten in stoppage time but was spared blushes as Olatunji misplaced cross.
John Souttar 7
A big performance was required with Rangers up against it for spells and Souttar delivered with total commitment. Threw his body in front of the ball on countless occasions making crucial blocks and interceptions. Booked.
Abdallah Sima 7
Asked to play in a left-wing-back role. Absolutely relentless running all night both offensively and defensively but perhaps curtailed a little by his defensive responsibility. Booked for dissent with frustration showing.
James Tavernier 5
Unusually quiet from the Rangers captain on a European night. Slightly more advanced through the back-three but was unable to turn that freedom into attacking threat.
John Lundstram 7
A standout in the Rangers midfield. Was up for the physical contest and did the dirty work to try and haul his team out of their own half. Crucial goalsaving block on 35 minutes denied a tap-in for the hosts.
Nico Raskin 6
Flourished in domestic action at the weekend but couldn't carry the performance to Prague. Industrious in his efforts but not as slick as he would have liked going forward.
Todd Cantwell 6
Brave on the ball in tight spaces and one of few Rangers players showing quality in glimpses in a tough first half. Couldn't find the cutting edge in the final third but put in the effort to aid the defence. Booked.
Sam Lammers 5
Struggled to get up to speed of the game with a number of loose passes in early knockings. Grew into the contest, though, and went close with a curling effort only to be denied by a good Vindahl stop.
Cyriel Dessers 5
Largely anonymous with Rangers penned in their own half for much of the time he was on the pitch. Was unable to affect play and too often went missing.
Scott Wright (for Cantwell, 64) 5
Injected much-needed pace into the Rangers attack.
Danilo (for Dessers, 74) 4
So close to a winner but left-footed strike was pushed onto the bar with moments left.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
