Wednesday marks day seven of the UCI Cycling World Championships, with seven different cycling disciplines all competing in their various championships. 

Today’s competitions are already underway with the para-cycling road race in Dumfries and Galloway and BMX competitions at Glasgow BMX Centre. 

Here is a run down of the action still to come this afternoon.

Road racing - Stirling

There won’t be races on the roads of Glasgow today - but cycling fans can head to Stirling to take in more road racing.

The Men’s Under 23 Individual Time Trial will begin at 14:25 in Stirling and feature a 36.2km loop starting and ending near Stirling Castle and going past Stirling Castle.

Mountain Bike XC

Cross country mountain biking will be going on through Peebles’ Glentress Forest throughout this afternoon.

Racing began at 12:30 with the Mixed Team Relay.

This will be followed by the Women’s Elite E-MTB Cross country at 15:00 and the Men’s event at 16:30.

BMX Freestyle 

Glasgow Green has action again today with BMX Freestyle events. 

This will start at 14:00 with the Women’s Elite Qualification round.

The semi-final for the Men’s Elite Freestyle Flatland will then take place at 15:00.

Later this evening at Glasgow Green, the Mixed Team trial will take place - a race testing agility and skill with riders going over purpose built obstacles.

Track

Track action at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome kicked off at 10am today with paracycling events, the first events being individual men’s time trials, followed by the equivalent races for women. These individual time trials will be going on throughout the day until 16:00.

Events at the Velodrome will continue into the evening with the Women’s Elite Sprint Finals set to be a highlight, as well as the Men’s Elite Keirin Final.
