Jim Goodwin has been sacked as Aberdeen manager in the wake of his side’s humiliating Premiership defeat to Hibs.
Billed as 'El Sackico', the Irishman has been relieved of his duties after a 6-0 thumping at the hands of Lee Johnson's men.
Dons supporters were left furious, as they booed their team at various points during the match at Easter Road.
It comes days after their embarrassing Scottish Cup defeat to West of Scotland Football side Darvel.
The Dons travelled to Recreation Park in poor form, having won one and lost six of their eight fixtures since the Premiership resumed after the World Cup, and ultimately lost 1-0 in a match where they were out-played by their sixth-tier opponents.
Goodwin had been given a reprieve after this game. That turned out to be short lived.
A short statement reads: "Following an unacceptable run of results since the World Cup break, the Club confirms it has parted company with Jim Goodwin and first team assistant manager Lee Sharp with immediate effect."
The former St Mirren manager had been in post for 11 months after succeeding Stephen Glass. It is expected that Barry Robson will take charge of the first team on an interim basis.
Speaking after the defeat to Darvel – which followed a 5-0 reverse at Tynecastle last week – Goodwin admitted to feeling ‘embarrassed and humiliated’.

He said: “The last two results have been extremely disappointing. To concede five against Hearts and then to come here and get turned over by a junior team is embarrassing and humiliating for everyone connected to the club and we can only apologise.
“I speak on behalf of everyone, the staff and the players. and we are extremely embarrassed by what happened tonight, although I think that is a bit disrespectful of Darvel.
“As a manager, especially a manager of a club the size of Aberdeen, you need to win games of football and our form since the return from the World Cup break hasn't been good enough and tonight is an extremely difficult result for me to take.
“A really poor performance that lacked any urgency and any creativity at the top end of the pitch.
“We will need to do a bit of assessing later on and speak to who we need to speak to tomorrow. We will have a meeting with the players and make sure we come out fighting at Easter Road, it is as simple as that.”
However, Goodwin was complimentary of Darvel - even if he slammed his side's performance in the Monday night cup tie.
He said: “I don’t want to talk about how bad my team’s performance was, I want to congratulate Darvel.
“I thought they were excellent on the night, got their noses in front and defended for their lives. They thoroughly deserved their victory.”

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
