Aberdeen have confirmed the departure of Christian Ramirez.
The striker has left the Pittodrie club to join MLS side Columbus Crew for an undisclosed fee.
The American international joined the Dons in the summer of 2021 on a two-year contract under Stephen Glass.
While he was the main man during that time, under Jim Goodwin, the 31-year-old's game time ha been more limited.
During his time in the North East, he scored 18-goals in 60 appearances for the club.
Jim Goodwin reckons it's a move that suits all parties.
He said: “At his age Christian wants to go and play regular first team football and the opportunity to return closer to home meant this was a prospect he was eager to pursue.
“There is no doubt Christian had a positive impact during his time at Pittodrie and I thank him for his efforts.”

Following his departure, Christian was keen to express his gratitude to the club and the Red Army.
He said: “I want to thank everyone in Aberdeen, the fantastic supporters and those behind the scenes at AFC, for allowing me to be part of such a historic Club.
“I wish everyone connected with the Dons the best of luck in the coming years, which I hope will be filled with great success.”
Meanwhile, Goodwin admitted that he was embarrassed by the “pathetic” defending in Aberdeen’s heavy 5-0 defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle – but vowed that he wouldn't “chuck in the towel”.
Goodwin was at a loss to describe why the Pittodrie club performed so poorly at the back in the cinch Premiership match against their rampant third-placed rivals.
Hearts fans chanted “you’re getting sacked in the morning” as the visitors disappointing run of form continued – they have now one just once since club football resumed after the World Cup break last month – in Gorgie.
But Goodwin, who admitted that he is trying to bring in new defenders before the January transfer window closes, has pledged to fight on and sort out Aberdeen’s poor away form.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
