Hibernian manager Lee Johnson has confirmed that defender Ryan Porteous is "absolutely" available for their upcoming match against Rangers.
The Easter Road side recently put out a statement making clear that the Scotland international would not be signing a new contract with the Edinburgh club.
His deal is up at the end of the season and the centre-back would be free to talk to potential suitors.
Despite all this, the Englishman has made clear that he still has a good relationship with the 23-year-old and that he is in the squad for the trip to Ibrox.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "You have to weigh up the benefit of keeping Ryan here and competing to fight for those European places.
"A cup run is possible in the Scottish Cup. At the same time, the succession plan has to be considered.
"If the fee is right and we’re able to reinvest it in a younger player or a player that could be as good as Ryan, then we have to look at that opportunity as well.
"What I would say is that Ryan has been fantastic. He’s been the perfect professional if you like and absolutely he's available for selection going into Thursday.
"Myself and Ryan have a very good relationship and it's stayed honest all the way through.
"I've got no issue with him personally."
Porteous has played 20 times for the Hibees this season, scoring twice and providing one assist.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
