ANGE POSTECOGLOU has revealed Celtic players will head to Portugal for a training camp before the return of domestic football after the Qatar World Cup.

The Parkhead boss told Australian radio station SEN that he would be heading to a camp in Portugal to prepare for the second-half of the season.

Postecoglou will take his Celtic side to Australia in November to compete in the Sydney Super Cup as during the World Cup break.

Celtidc will take on Everton and Sydney FC in the friendly tournament with Postecoglou returning to Australia for the event.

And the Celtic boss admitted he's hoping for some downtime after the competition with a week off to catch up with friends in Melbourne as the World Cup goes on.

Postecoglou admitted it would be his only chance to take some time off with the Celtic boss then heading straight to Portugal for a Celtic training camp before Scottish Premiership action returns.

He explained: “It’s probably the only time I’ll have (after the Sydney Super Cup matches) within the next sort of period to get down to Melbourne and visit friends.

“I’ve got about another week off after those games. So, I’m gonna come down to Melbourne and just catch up with people and watch the games on the telly.

“And then we head back, cause we’ll go back straight after that and go straight into camp in Portugal, and get ready for the second half of the year.

"With the World Cup being smack bang in the middle, it means the programme either side of it is super congested.

"Not just for us, for all football clubs. So, we’re gonna get ready to go again.”
