JIM GOODWIN says he is unaware of any approach from Hearts for striker Christian Ramirez ahead of the transfer window closing this evening.

Robbie Neilson, the Tynecastle side’s manager, is believed to be on the look-out for further attacking reinforcements after centre-forward Liam Boyce was ruled out for up to nine months by tearing a cruciate ligament in Sunday’s 3-2 victory over St Johnstone.

Reports this morning had suggested that Neilson was considering a loan move for Ramirez, who scored 15 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions last season but has subsequently slipped down the pecking order at Pittodrie, but his Dons counterpart insists that no talks have taken place to his knowledge.

When asked if Hearts had enquired about Ramirez, Goodwin replied: “Not that I’m aware of.

“There’s speculation about a number of players coming and going but the players who are here and under contract are Aberdeen players until I get told otherwise.

“We’ve had two or three different things happen over the summer where we thought players were moving on and didn’t for one reason or another.

“The players who are here right now are very good players and I’m lucky to have the strength and depth of squad that we have.

“There are some players within that who are frustrated with the lack of game time currently so we will just have to wait and see what happens.”
