ST MIRREN have asked supporters for a voluntary contribution of £30 to supplement the loss of income following a decision to cut the allocation of both Celtic and Rangers.

Glasgow's big two were given both the away and family stand for fixtures in Paisley, but a decision was taken this season to retain all three stands for home supporters this term.

A supporter survey intimated that Saints fans were willing to support this initiative and as a result, the club launched the scheme.

It comes as Celtic announced today a reduced allocation for their away clash against Stephen Robinson's men on September 17. They will receive 1493 tickets.

St Mirren have also launched the Help a Buddie initiative where supporters have the chance to purchase and donate a match ticket for those less fortunate.

The club say The Tony Fitzpatrick Family Stand has been retained to give as many supporters as possible the opportunity to "come and be part of the St Mirren Family".

Each £25 ticket bought will be shared amongst some of the most vulnerable in the community.

The Help A Buddie scheme will run for the entirety of the 2022/23 season and more information can be found HERE.
