HIBERNIAN left-back Josh Doig is 'on the brink' of completing a move to Serie A outfit Hellas Verona, according to reports.

The defender shot to prominence in the 2020/21 campaign as he broke into the starting line-up at Easter Road and landed the SFWA's Young Player of the Year Award at the end of the season. Doig was also nominated for last term's PFA Young Player of the Year award but lost out to Celtic winger Liel Abada.

The Scotland Under-21 internationalist, who has made 78 first-team appearances in total for Hibs, is expected to fly out to Italy this weekend ahead of a medical on Monday.

The Scottish Sun report that Hellas Verona, who finished ninth in the Italian top flight last term, have agreed a £3million fee with Hibs for Doig, who is 'on the brink' of completing the move.
