SCOTT ALLAN has been released from Hibernian along with four other first-team players as new manager Lee Johnson starts to shape his squad for next season.

The 30-year-old is a popular figure at Easter Road and has made 129 appearances for the club over the space of three separate spells in Leith.

Injury and illness disrupted the former West Brom, Celtic and Dundee midfielder's most recent spell in the capital and he has now been released by the club alongside Alex Gogic (who , Sean Mackie, Jamie Murphy and Drey Wright.

Hibs academy product Innes Murray, who spent last season on loan at Edinburgh City, will also depart the club.
