Eintracht Frankfurt 2, Rangers 3

Rangers have had the X Factor in the Europa League this season – and I think they are more than capable of finishing as the No 1 team in the competition.

Eintracht have been brilliant as well and have shown with their wins over Real Betis, Barcelona and West Ham in the knockout rounds they too can lift the trophy.

But Giovanni van Bronckhorst has masterminded famous wins over Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig this year and will know what has to be done to complete a German hat-trick.

If Van Bronckhorst has to go with Scott Wright up front once again he will need the Scot to have the game of his life – but the absence of Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe was not a problem against Leipzig.

IN the season that Rangers celebrated their 150th anniversary and remembered the heroes of Barcelona fifty years on, there would be no more fitting a success than lifting the Europa League in Seville.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side have earned their shot at the silverware the hard way and that character will be key against Bundesliga opposition once again.

But Rangers have the quality and the tactical nous to emerge victorious. The stage is set and new legends could be crowned tonight.

A place in the history books beckons for Giovanni Van Bronckhorst and his men, and it will be no easy task to write themselves into Ibrox and Scottish football folklore forevermore.

Despite their lowly position in the Bundesliga, Frankfurt are a more than decent side, as Real Betis, Barcelona and West Ham will testify. All were vanquished on their way to Seville, making their own run to the final just as impressive as that of Rangers.

Having bested Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig though, both superior German sides to Frankfurt, I just fancy Rangers to see it through.

They went so close in 2008, but the whole build-up to this showdown in Seville has a winning feeling to it. Rangers have been underdogs in just about every one of their knockout games to date and that’s why I expect them to go all the way.

The injury blows of Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe were real worries at the time, but Rangers have proved they can cope without their two main attacking threats. Team spirit has been key throughout this European journey, and it will be again in Spain. Let’s just hope Rangers can cap off a wonderful run to pen a famous night into the Scottish football history books.

Having seen off Bundesliga giant Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig over two legs this season already, both of whom are higher-placed than Rangers’ Europa League final opponents Eintracht Frankfurt, it is hard to see past a European triumph for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side. Eintracht have themselves dumped out Barcelona and West Ham en route to Seville, so it remains a huge challenge for the Ibrox outfit, but I fancy them to edge a one-off clash in Spain.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Rangers (Frankfurt win on penalties)

I’m expecting a tight contest in Seville and can’t see either side keeping a clean sheet but I fear a painful ending for Rangers supporters.

The raucous stands at Ibrox will not be a factor tonight and I think Van Bronckhorst’s men will miss the voracious backing.

I think they will get as close as they possibly can without lifting the cup and will push Frankfurt all the way, but it’s been a long time since the team took part in a shoot-out and that could prove costly.

While the Ibrox club may be slight underdogs for the final, I see no reason why they cannot come out of the blocks strong to blow their Bundesliga foes away.

They've done similar to Borussia Dortmund, Braga and RB Leipzig in their previous knockout ties. The Germans will of course be difficult opponents, but this trophy just seems to have Rangers' name on it.

This is the best opportunity Rangers will have to seize Europa League glory, and I think they’ll take it. There’s no doubt Frankfurt are worthy opponents but they’re, on league form, the third best German team Rangers are facing in the competition. Rangers have been quick-starters on major European nights this season and I expect it’ll be a similar story in Seville and reckon Giovanni van Bronckhorst has enough in his squad to hold on to write their names in Ibrox the history books.
