KYLE LAFFERTY has been named cinch Championship Player of the Month for the second successive month after spearheading Kilmarnock's promotion push.

The former Hearts and Rangers striker has played a big part in the Ayrshire side's 100 per cent league record in March which has seen them move four points clear at the top.

Lafferty's double in the 2-1 home win over Partick Thistle at the end of last month underlined how vital his contribution has been since he returned to the club in January.

"It's nice to win this award again but the reason I came back here was to win promotion and we’ve still got work to do to make that happen," he stressed.

"We'll need everyone to give everything in these four remaining games to end the season the way that we want to."
