SATURDAY'S sixth round ties saw five teams secure a precious quarter final place in the Kappa and Only Sports Scottish Amateur Cup.

It was a great day for the Central Scottish AFL. All five teams who made it through are members of the CSAFL.

With one of the postponed ties also being an all Central affair, they are guaranteed six of the eight quarter-final berths.

Thankfully, only three ties fell victim to the storms that battered the West of the country. These games should go ahead next weekend.

East of Scotland Cup holders, Fallin, raced to a commanding 3-0 interval lead away to Harestanes.

The home side rallied in the second half, but it was Fallin who made it through with an impressive 4-1 score-line.

The much-anticipated tie between 2019-2020 finalists, Drumchapel and table-topping Lesmahagow lived up to expectations. Locked at 3-3 at the end of 90 minutes, it was Lesmahagow who triumphed 4-3 after a tense penalty shootout.

A penalty shootout was also needed in the third all-Central League clash. West Park United edged Castlemilk Dynamo 5-4 in another dramatic finish after a 2-2 draw.

Comeback of the day undoubtedly came from Wishaw High School FP. 2-0 down in their home tie against Aberdeenshire’s Cowie Thistle, the FPs fought back to win 3-2. Tower Hearts recorded a fine 1-0 win away against Dumbarton Academy FP to complete the list of those now eagerly awaiting the Quarter Final draw.
