RANGERS look set to appoint their new manager over the international break after Steven Gerrard departed for Aston Villa.
Giovanni Van Bronckhorst has emerged as the favourite for the role with Ross Wilson, the Rangers sporting director, overseeing the process.
Gennaro Gattuso, Derek McIness and Frank Lampard have also been touted for the role, but it remains to be seen who will be offered the job.
Whoever is succesful in their application for the Ibrox gig will be thrown into the thick of the action with a run of eleven games before the turn of the year.
Just five of these matches will take place at Ibrox and among Scottish Premiership fixtures there are key Europa League fixtures against Sparta Prague and Lyon.
Rangers' first game after new year is then a crucial top of the table Premiership clash against Ange Postecoglou's Celtic.
