RANGERS
JON MCLAUGHLIN 6
Hardly tested in the Rangers net. Distributed the ball well though.
NATHAN PATTERSON 7
Another accomplished performance at right back for the Rangers youngster. Was never tested defensively, but he added an extra dimension to the Gers attack.
CONNOR GOLDSON 8
Never gave Cove a sniff in the final third. Won all his aerial duals and was strong in the tackle.
FILIP HELANDER 7
Assured display at the back. Moved the ball well and commanded the Gers backline in a dominant 90 minutes.
CALVIN BASSEY 5
Strong defensively but was poor going forward. Had to do more up against lower league opposition. Picked up a yellow card in the first half too.
STEVEN DAVIS 6
Tidy performance in the middle of the park. Kept Rangers ticking over and moved the ball well. Booked for a poor challenge on Smith.
GLEN KAMARA 7
Controlled the tempo at Ibrox. Intelligent display and knocked the ball about with ease.
SCOTT ARFIELD 7
Grew into the game in an attacking sense. Energetic and always willing to get on the ball.
SCOTT WRIGHT 9
A constant threat in the final third for Rangers on his first start. Linked up really well with Roofe and Defoe. Brilliant cross for Roofe’s second goal.
KEMAR ROOFE 8
Like all good strikers followed in on the goalkeeper for his first. Top finish for his second. Impressive all-round display.
JERMAIN DEFOE 8
First start since mid-December but looked sharp as ever. Stunning finish from the edge of the box for the opening goal.
SUBS
IANIS HAGI (FOR DAVIS, 45) 4
Added a different dimension to the Gers attack after being introduced from the bench.
CEDRIC ITTEN (FOR ROOFE, 62) 3
Never really made an impact in the latter stages.
GREG STEWART (FOR DEFOE, 73) 3
Looked busy in his cameo appearance.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
