CONNOR GOLDSON told the new Ibrox recruits 'welcome to Rangers' after their dramatic injury-time win over Legia Warsaw, and he says Steven Gerrard's men now far no one in today's draw for the group stage.
Alfredo Morelos's late winner sparked wild scenes of celebration all around the stadium on a night that Goldson felt the Rangers fans did their club proud after a tumultuous week.
"It was brilliant," Goldson said. "I just said to the new boys in the changing room after the game: ‘welcome to Rangers'.
"These European nights and the Old Firm matches are what you come to Rangers for.

"If you cant turn up in this atmosphere there’s no points being a footballer. But the fans were great tonight. They never let us down.
"Legia fans came with a lot of fans and made a lot of noise in both legs.
"The atmosphere at their place was electric but I feel we beat their atmosphere here on a European night like that at Ibrox. The fans drove us on.
"Rangers are about group stage football. The gaffer reminded us at the start of qualification that we needed to deliver European football to Rangers.
"It’s a massive selling point to any player coming here. We all want to take this club to have as high a profile as possible and as players we want to play against teams from different countries."
With his manager's legendary status at Liverpool, Goldson believes that it is written in the stars for Rangers to pull Manchester United out of the hat at lunchtime, but he is adamant that Rangers will relish whatever challenge is placed in front of them.
"Maybe it’s inevitable we get Man Utd," he said. "Hopefully we do.
“We want to play against the big European teams and there’s a few in the hat.
“It would be good to test ourselves against the best."

Goldson also believes that the dramatic triumph will stand them in good stead for Celtic's visit to Ibrox this Sunday.
“We go into the game full of confidence," he said. "Obviously we’re unbeaten so far this season and are on the back of four clean sheets in a row.
“Everyone is positive and we’ll take that in to the Old Firm game.
“The group we have in the dressing room, we fancy ourselves against anyone at the moment.
“There’s a lot of belief we can have a good season. The next game is huge for us and the fans.
“But we are going in with confidence looking to get three points."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
