Glasgow clubs eye Daniel Sturridge

The 29-year-old striker is without a club after being released by Liverpool yesterday and the Glaswegian clubs are two of the bookmakers' favourites to land the former England international.

Boyd insists Celtic leak doesn't matter
Ex-Celtic centre-back Tom Boyd reckons the leak of the club's transfer documents is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. "Whether or not it’s known about a week in advance makes no difference to me," said Boyd. "All I care about is that we get the best players possible on the best possible deals."
Lennon: Griffiths return is like signing £6 million striker
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has predicted the return of striker Leigh Griffiths next season will be like the club signing a £6 million player. Lennon said: "It will be like a new signing. We could have a £6 million striker on our hands for nothing. He’s missed the last 18 months and he’ll need to knuckle down, but he’ll have our full support."

Celtic target James Justin, a right-back currently playing for Luton Town, looks set to complete a move to Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City. The Daily Record think the deal for the highly-rated 21-year-old wil be completed imminently.

Nenad Gracan, the Croatia under-21s boss, believes that Nikola Katic's experience playing for Rangers this season will stand him in good stead for the under-21 European Championships. "He [Katic] is getting playing time in a club that competes at a high level, and this is something that my coaching staff and I are always looking for," revealed Gracan.
Celtic make move for right-back

John Park rules out Celtic return
John Park, the former Celtic head of recruitment who identified players such as Virgil Van Dijk and Victor Wanyama, will resist any approach by chief executive Peter Lawwell to bring him back to the club, according to the Scottish Sun. Sunderland are reportedly keen to appoint Park as director of football.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
