IT'S been a memorable season in the Scottish top flight, with no shortage of goals and drama on the pitch, and more than a few off-field incidents that have dominated the headlines.
We've taken a look back at this year's Premiership fixtures and picked out our top seven games from this season. Have a look below and let us know your favourite in the comments.
Motherwell 3-3 Rangers - 26/8/18
We didn't have to wait very long to get our first Premiership cracker of the season. Rangers travelled to Motherwell for the third league fixture of the campaign and the game at Fir Park won't be forgotten in a hurry. Danny Johnson scored early on for the home side, Kyle Lafferty bagged a brace before Peter Hartley's injury-time header ensured both sides would share the spoils.
Celtic 4-2 Hibernian - 20/10/18
Neil Lennon's Hibernian arrived at Parkhead in October and what unfolded was one of the most enjoyable matches in the Scottish top flight in years. Celtic ultimately finished as winners of a frantic, end-to-end game that featured a number of excellent goals. Florian Kamberi's second-half strike, in particular, will live ong in the memories of Hibernian supporters.
Aberdeen 3-4 Celtic - 26/12/18
How about this for a Boxing Day cracker? While most of us were nursing hangovers from the night before, Aberdeen and Celtic put on quite the spectacle at Pittodrie. Scott Sinclair netted a hat-trick for the visitors, but it was Odsonne Edouard's introduction offf the bench that ulitmately swung the game in Celtic's favour.
Rangers 1-0 Celtic - 29/12/18
This was the day that Rangers fans had been waiting for and had craved so desperately. After going years without a win over Celtic, Steven Gerrard's side finally got the monkey off their back with a 1-0 win over their rivals at Ibrox. Ryan Jack's goal was all that separated the two sides in the end, but, in truth, it could have been a lot worse for Brendan Rodgers' understrength team.
Aberdeen 2-4 Rangers - 6/2/19
A truly remarkable match at Pittodrie. Two red cards, two penalties and six goals in a typically bonkers game between the two rivals. Alfredo Morelos scored two - including the recipient of goal of the season - before been shown his marching orders in the second half.
Dundee 2-4 Hibernian - 22/2/19
Another game involving Hibernian, but this time with Paul Heckingbottom in charge of the Leith club. Hibs travelled to Dens Park to face a Dundee side undergoing a mini-revival and left with all three points in a hugely entertaining game. The fixture ended with six goals, but it could have easily had eight or nine. Sheer madness on Tayside.
Motherwell 4-3 Dundee - 27/4/19
The game that was effectively the final nail in Dundee's coffin. Motherwell had little to play for except pride, but they didn;t let that stop them as they put on a show at Fir Park. Each time one side made the breakthrough, the opposition would have the ball in the net within two minutes. Until the very last minute, that is. Step forward David Turnbull...
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
