Here's how the Celtic players rated in their 2-1 win over Rangers on Sunday.
BAIN: Could have watched the first half from the stand but was left brutally exposed when Rangers netted with their first shot of the afternoon. Would have been relieved to see a spilled shot from Kent before Ajer managed to nick a touch on Joe Worrall's effort to poke the ball just wide. Seemed to take a punch from Andy Halliday in the battle that raged at the full-time whistle. (7)
LUSTIG: Preferred to Jeremy Toljan and put in a fine shift on the right. Had one rasping effort from distance in the second period that went just wide of the post. Left the pitch with his shirt ripped to pieces after the melee at the final whistle. (7)
BOYATA: One slip in concentration ion the second period on the halfway line that came to nothing but a greater price to pay shortly after when Daniel Candeias' backheel released Ryan Kent and caught him flatfooted. Left the pitch injured with 16 minutes to go, leaving both sides with ten men. Punched the dugout in frustration. Nothing to the frustration that Lennon would have felt at seeing his side lose a body with Celtic under the cosh at that point. (6)
AJER: Outstanding performance form the young Norwegian. Another day, another head knock. Stripped in the dug out to replace his bloodied strip before getting back on. Noticeable at times for his ability to carry the ball out and heart-on-sleeve celebrations for goalline clearances. One sliding tackle on Tavernier in the final minutes that embodied his day. (9)

TIERNEY: Fears about his availability in the build-up to the game but made the starting line-up. Had a rasping effort well saved by McGregor in the aftermath of Alfredo Morelos’ sending-off. Question marks about his fitness surfaced in the second period as he toiled before having to drag himself off the pitch. (7)
FORREST: Glorious ball into Edouard’s feet to set up the striker for the opening goal of the day and the striker reciprocated with Celtic's second. Edouard turned inside before teeing up Forrest who calmly netted with a low effort into the bottom corner. Quietly impressive. (8)
NTCHAM: First start since Celtic lost at Ibrox back in December and inevitably tired. Replaced just after the hour mark. (7)
BROWN: Goaded Morelos into reacting with a clip of the Columbian’s legs and getting Rangers reduced to ten men. Booked in the second period for a foul on Scott Arfield before taking a hefty shove from Kent. Led the circus in the ugly post-match scenes. (7)
MCGREGOR: Set up the winner after a dreadful mistake from Tavernier. Capitalised on the mistake to play a first time ball down to Edouard as Celtic snatched the win. Industrious without making as much of an impact as he has in previous games. (7)

HAYES: Made his debut in this fixture. First name in the book with a late tackle on Ryan Kent but never quite imposed himself on the game. Replaced by Scott Sinclair at the interval. (6)
EDOUARD: Excellent overall display as he led the line. Scored one fine goal in the opening period and was equally impressive with his part in the teeing up Forrest for the winning goal. (9)
SINCLAIR: Arrived after the interval to take over from Hayes and almost grabbed the second. Denied by a fine save from McGregor shortly after his arrival. (6)
ROGIC: On for Ntcham just after Ryan Kent had pegged Celtic back but little real input into the game. Very difficult game for him to come into after being out for three months. (5)
TOLJAN: Replaced Kieran Tierney as the Scotland internationalist broke down. (5)
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
