ALFREDO MORELOS insists he won’t change his passionate approach as he looks to improve his all-round game going forward.

The Colombian has netted 29 goals for Steven Gerrard’s side this season and arguably been the top performer in the Premiership. But Morelos’ mentality has repeatedly been questioned as yellow and red cards have been collected throughout the campaign.

Morelos has become a target for opposition defences and a player that rival supporters love to hate but the 22-year-old is only focused on doing his best for the Gers and taking his game to the next level.

“Well, I’m a tactical player, I prepare myself physically, mentally, for all the games,” he told RangersTV. “All games are different, there are times that I do things really well, excellent, there are times that I’m ‘sweet’ with the goal, there are times when I’m not.

“There are times when I only score once, or not at all, so I need to be prepared for all of that. A forward can’t always score, it’s also about setting up for team-mates, and as I said I’m prepared physically for that and for whatever happens in the game.

“I am a strong player, I also like coming in strong, powerfully and hitting the ball hard. I’m a very ‘hot’ player on the field, I’m very passionate, and I like it when I’m competing, when I’m active and fighting with the defence, jumping, holding the ball, I would never change the way I am.

“There are times when I can’t score, there are times when I have the chance to assist my team-mates, it’s also something that helps me grow as a player, it’s something that is super important for my career.

“For a forward, it isn’t just about scoring goals, it is also working for the team, running for the team, helping the team-mates and working for the team.”
