BAYERN Munich will be without star striker Robert Lewandowski for Tuesday's Champions League meeting with Celtic

The German champions have confirmed that the Poland international has not travelled for the Group B encounter after he was forced off with a thigh problem during Saturday's win over RB Leipzig.

He is the latest name to be added to Jupp Heynckes' lengthy injury list, with Franck Ribery, Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer and Juan Bernat also sidelined.

Chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the club website: "If we had played against Real Madrid, he might have gone.

"The coach does not want to risk anything as Saturday's game, which is very important for us, is in the back of his mind."

Bayern won 3-0 when the two sides met at the Allianz Arena a fortnight ago and currently sit three points ahead of the Hoops in second place.
