FORMER Hibernian and East Fife striker Jamie Insall has been handed a two-year suspension from all sport after testing positive for cocaine.

UK Anti-Doping confirmed the ban on Thursday after the 25-year-old failed a drugs test following a League One match on 11 March.

Insall's suspension will come to an end on 30 March 2019.

He moved to Hibs from non-league side Bromyard Town in 2015, but failed to make a competitive appearance for the capital club.

Insall scored 14 goals during two loan spells with East Fife, but was freed from his Easter Road contract a year early after the failed test.

UK Anti-Doping Chief Executive Nicole Sapstead said: "Regardless of how it got there, every athlete is solely responsible for what is in their system and must adhere to the strict liability principle.

“They must ensure that they take the appropriate steps to manage the risk at all times.”
