CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted he will be interested in returning to the English Premier League, but says he wants to leave a legacy at Parkhead first.

The former Liverpool and Swansea City boss secured the Ladbrokes Premiership title with a 5-0 win away to Hearts on Sunday, the second trophy of his debut season in Scottish football after November’s Betfred Cup success.

Speaking to TalkSport, the 44-year-old admitted that a move south of the border will appeal to him in the future.

However, he assured that he has no plans to leave the Hoops until he has left a permanent mark on the club.

"I think one day that will be the case,” replied the Northern Irishman when asked if he desired a return to the English top-flight.

"I’m obviously still young as a manager, a few years ago I was super ambitious and I still I am.

"But being at Celtic makes you re-assess and sometimes you have to look at what you’ve got as well.

“And what I have here, I’ve got a job to do, I’ve got a responsibility.

"As a Celtic supporter I know what they want and I want to try and give them as much as I possibly can and when I do leave here, hopefully I can leave a legacy that allows for the next guy to go in and take it on again.

"One day I will look to go back [to the Premier League]. I wouldn't rule out going abroad as well. But at this moment in time my only focus is for Celtic.

"I love it here, I love the life up here and I want to continue to build the club and continue with the success."
