East Fife continue to ruffle a few feathers under Barry Smith.

The 1-0 win at Livingston, courtesy of a late strike from Jason Kerr, underlined their play-off credentials.

Their surge up to third in the table has seen them lose only once in 13 league games even if goalkeeper Mark Hurst admits it was a case of all hands to the pump on Saturday.

"It was an important boost," he said, "It kept the run going against a strong Livi team.

"Obviously it was a hard game and we dealt with it and we scored with our chance.

"Everybody was just flinging themselves in front of the ball which makes things easier for me.

"We had two cleared off the line. I had a couple of saves and everyone played their part.

"Everybody is buzzing, the music is going. We kept our run going and we look forward to Saturday and Alloa.

"Livingston are a full-time club and I don’t want to say that we tried harder but you raise your game.

"There were a lot of bodies in front of me so I saw a lot of shots quite late but it is something you can work on as a goalkeeper as it is down to your reactions.

"You work on your reactions and obviously it is paying off.

"I think we can hold onto our place in the promotion play-offs.

"We need to keep our run going against Alloa but we're not scared of anyone now.

"We are doing well at the moment and we need to keep it going. As long as I am keeping a clean sheet and the team is doing well, I'll take that."

Alloa took full advantage by moving to within seven points of Livingston by beating Stenhousemuir 2-1 with top scorer Greig Spence netting the winner from the penalty spot, his 21st goal of the season.

Airdrieonians dug their heels in to hold onto fourth place going into the final quarter after outlasting neighbours Albion Rovers 4-3 in the thriller at Cliftonhill.

Airdrie saw their lead clawed back three times and Ryan Wallace looked to have earned Albion a point with his second goal of the match in the last minute.

But Sean McIntosh came up with the winning goal in injury-time to keep Airdrie just a point ahead of Brechin City, who won 1-0 at Peterhead thanks to a second-half strike from Andy Jackson.

Stranraer and Queen's Park shared a 1-1 draw at Stair Park. Ross Millen put the Glasgow side in front from the penalty spot - his sixth successful spot-kick this season - but Craig Malcolm equalised late on and Queen's Park ended up short-handed after Adam Cummins saw red.
