Scotland’s Women have been dealt a blow ahead of Saturday’s Six Nations match with England with the news that key player Jade Konkel is out with a hand injury.

The No.8, the only female pro player in the country, set-up one of the tries in the historic win over Wales nearly two weeks ago with a great offload.

The 23-year-old will not be involved at the Twickenham Stoop this weekend, but is hopeful of being back for Italy on March 17.

As a result, Jemma Forsyth moves from blindside flanker to No.8 and Sarah Bonar comes into the starting XV at six.

The 22-year-old Bonar has five Scotland caps to date, all off the bench.

Amongst the replacements, Murrayfield Wanderers’ Rachael Cook returns to the squad after earning 10 caps in 2014 and 2015.

Hillhead/Jordanhill’s Abi Evans also comes onto the bench.

Head Coach Shade Munro said: “The win against Wales gave the squad a massive boost of confidence and was reward for all the hard work they’ve put in.

“We are under no illusion how difficult England are going to be given they are top of the table having won all their games in this year’s event, but I have every faith our players will rise to the challenge.”
