BOBBY MADDEN has been appointed as referee for Sunday's Ladbrokes Premiership meeting between Celtic and Rangers

The 38-year-old will be aided by assistant referees David McGeachie and Dougie Potter at Celtic Park, as well as fourth official Kevin Clancy.

It will be the first time this season Madden has taken charge of the Old Firm clash after Steven McLean, Craig Thomson and Willie Collum refereed the previous three matches.

Madden has officiated 22 matches this season, including two Europa League games and a World Cup qualifier between Portugal and Latvia, brandishing 63 yellow and two red cards.

He last took charge of a Celtic game during the Hoops' 4-0 win over Hearts in January, while a 2-1 win for Rangers over Motherwell back in August has been his only Gers match of the season so far.

Celtic will be looking to stretch a 33-point lead over their rivals after recording three wins from three against them in the Premiership and Betfred Cup so far this campaign.
