St Mirren have announced that Alex Miller has agreed to join the club as assistant manager, replacing the departed Mark Spalding.

Miller joins the club immediately and was introduced to the players at training this morning.

He told the club website: “I agreed to come and help St Mirren as they gave me my first opportunity to manage in the Premier League, also to assist Ian Murray who is a young manager making his way in the game, I’m looking forward to the challenge”

Miller brings vast experience with him from a managing and coaching career that has taken in spells at the likes of Morton, Hibernian, Aberdeen and Liverpool.

Manager Ian Murray was delighted with the appointment, saying: “I am very happy to have someone of Alex’s knowledge and experience beside me and this will give myself and the squad a huge lift.”
