GORDON 5 – Will be disappointed at how he was beaten at his near post for the first goal, but was probably blameless for the second. Was badly exposed for the third, and even though it went through him, had little chance.
LUSTIG 4 – The Swedish international was one of many who floundered in the flood. Gave Elyounoussi far too much room to pile in the third. Delivery at the other end not great, either.
AMRBOSE 3 – Mr Calamity was caught square on as Kamara was played in to open the scoring and this allowed the Molde man to burst into the box. Rightly booked late in the second half.
BOYATA 3 – Was his slack pass which started off the trouble for the hosts’ opener. Key part of a defence that simply cannot defend. Dithery in possession.
IZAGUIRRE 3 – Gave Forren far too much space to double Molde’s lead. Did likewise for the home side’s third as he allowed cross to come in. Offered little going forward.
COMMONS 6 – Struggled to make his mark with the conditions underfoot but was always switched on. Got his goal when he capitalised on some slack defending to give Celtic hope…briefly. Rightly furious to be removed.
BROWN 5 – Had his work cut out trying to steady this creaking ship. Mixture of factors restricted his influence.
BITTON 5 – Struggled to gain a foothold on the soggy surface. Started to show more intent after the break with an unlucky effort after 48 minutes and a fine strike that hit the bar in the closing minutes. Not his usual reliable self, but far from the worst culprit.
JOHANSEN 4 – Another below-par showing from the Norwegian who was making a return to his homeland. Far from effective but somehow managed to avoid being hooked by his fellow countryman.
ARMSTRONG 5 – One of the brightest lights for Celtic early on as the game drifted away from them. Ran himself into the ground without much reward.
GRIFFITHS 4 – Had an early chance but heavy first touch on an even heavier surface let him down. Was his biggest contribution.
SUBSTITUTES
MACKAY-STEVEN (for Armstrong 74) 3 – Tried to make impact but had little opportunity.
CIFTCI (for Commons 76) 2 – Damage was done by the time he came on. Little chance.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
