HEARTS head coach Robbie Neilson has been found guilty of implying "bias or incompetence" following comments made regarding referee WiIllie Collum - but has escaped an immediate touchline ban.
The SFA ruled that the boss had breached Disciplinary Rule 72 by following Collum's contentious handling of their 3-2 defeat against Hamilton on August 29.
Neilson was handed a two-match ban, suspended for the rest of the season, meaning he will be free to take his place in the dugout for Saturday's Premiership meeting with Kilmarnock.
HIBERNIAN
Alan Stubbs insists he is 'very happy' at Hibernian after being linked with the vacant manager's job at Dundee United.
Stubbs is reportedly one of the candidates being considered by the Tannadice club as they seek a successor to Jackie McNamara, who was sacked in the wake of a sixth league defeat of the season last weekend.
The Hibs boss was also said to be in the sights of Wigan Athletic in the summer and was adamant yesterday there had been no contact from the Tayside club.
However, he was keen to stress his contentment with - and concentration on - the post he currently occupies at Easter Road.
He said: "I have a job to do here at Hibs and nothing has changed."
RAITH ROVERS
Former Hibs and Dundee United midfielder Scott Robertson could be about to seal a return to Scottish football with Championship side Raith Rovers The 30-year-old has been training with the Kirkcaldy team after ending a brief stint with Romanian outfit Botosani.
And it is understood that Raith are keen to put a package together that would see the 30-year-old sign a deal at Stark's Park.
IN ENGLAND
Terry Butcher has been sacked for the second time in just 16 months after he was dismissed by Newport County.
The former Motherwell, Inverness and Hibernian boss took the reins of the Welsh club in April but endured a disastrous start to this season, winning just one of his 10 league games in charge.
He leaves Newport rock-bottom of League Two with five points on the board.
Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor is rebuilding his confidence after a "wobbly" start to the season, according to his club boss Steve Bruce.
McGregor is part of Gordon Strachan's squad to face Poland and Gibraltar, and Bruce lauded: "Allan has made mistakes but fair play to him, at the minute he's playing well. That's good to see. It was a wobbly start but we all know he's a good goalkeeper."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
