Hamilton fought back from behind to claim a 2-1 victory at Kilmarnock in the Ladbrokes Premiership thanks to Ali Crawford.
Accies had found themselves trailing to a Greg Kiltie goal at half-time at Rugby Park.
But they hit back in the second half to secure the three points when Crawford set up Dougie Imrie for the equaliser, before netting the winner himself.
Kilmarnock were boosted by the return of goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald after he missed their midweek League Cup defeat through injury but Stuart Findlay was sidelined with an eye problem.
There was good news on the injury front for Accies, with Carlton Morris recovering from the knock that forced him out of the derby win against Motherwell.
Hamilton carved out the first real chance when Crawford tried his luck with a shot that was flicked on by Morris but MacDonald saved comfortably.
At the other end, Tope Obadeyi did well to power his way to the edge of the area before picking out Kiltie as he cut in from the right.
But goalkeeper Michael McGovern was quick to race off his line and block bravely at the feet of Kiltie.
However, the youngster was soon celebrating when he bagged the opener after 34 minutes. Kallum Higginbotham was the supplier with a lovely pass and Kiltie kept his cool to slot past McGovern into the far bottom corner.
The home side could have doubled their lead when Kiltie turned provider with a cross from the left for Josh Magennis but his header was ably dealt with by the keeper.
Obadeyi then screwed just wide on the stroke of half-time before Kevin McHattie dragged past the post from close range shortly after the restart.
Instead, it was Accies who had the net bulging in style on 50 minutes.
Crawford punted a long ball up the park that was collected by Imrie, who smashed home off the underside of the crossbar.
The visitors threw Christian Nade into the action for Morris and he was not too far away with a shot that fizzed across the face of goal and wide.
The goalscoring honours went to Crawford instead when he fired Accies into the lead on 64 minutes.
Greg Docherty's cut-back picked out the midfielder a few yards out and Crawford duly obliged by tucking home from close range.
Killie passed up a number of decent chances to restore parity.
Higginbotham saw his fierce shot from distance saved well by McGovern before Magennis hooked over from inside the six-yard box.
McHattie then drew another impressive save from the Accies keeper with a swerving free-kick at the near post.
Killie were reduced to 10 men when Lee Ashcroft was dismissed in injury time for a challenge on Imrie as Hamilton held on for the win.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
